There are a lot of vampire novels out there, but they tend to fall into two categories – graphic and gory horror or angst-filled romance. Norm Cowie takes the genre in a whole new direction with the fantastically funny Fang Face.
Some odd things have been going on with the kids at Lincoln Junior/Senior High: pretty girls are getting even prettier as their hair gets darker and their skin paler. Erin knows the reason, because it has started happening to her too. A young vampire in the area is trying to start his own coven by turning teenagers and letting them use their new vampire thirst on friends and family. They may be changing into blood-sucking monsters, but there are some hilarious results.
A lot of vampire novels are character-based instead of plot-based. Fang Face is really neither – it is entirely humor-based. While normally this would get old for the length of a novel, Norm Cowie manages to keep the jokes fresh with quirky characters and enough of a plot to make the reader want to find out what will happen next. Short chapters also help the pages fly right by. Fang Face is not a deep read in any sense, but it is the perfect light read during a break from school.

Ricki Marking-Camuto of BookLoons wrote one of the best book reviews I ever received. . And it's not just that she liked it, calling it 'fantastically funny'. I get lots of reviews like that.
Reviewers like my books.
But here's why I like it. She understood that plot and character development are secondary in my writing. I mean, sure, there's a plot, but usually one develops as I write, rather than everything originating from the plot.
Maybe I'm splitting hairs, I don't know, but I love this review.
